In Joel 2 we read (NIV):
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
Interestingly, the recently discovered Comet NEOWISE makes its closest approach to Earth today. In Daniel 12, the prophet expresses his confusion about what he has seen:
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
In previous posts the question was raised of when the Final Jubilee might coincide with the removal of Jesus' people from Babylon, the end of "living sacrifice(s)", and the liberation of those enslaved by the current world system. In Revelation 4, the Apostle John relays an incredible sight:
"After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, 'Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.'"
The fourth letter in the Hebrew alphabet is the Dalet, which means "door" (see https://www.ancient-hebrew.org/ancient-alphabet/dalet.htm). The fact that John's vision of a door in heaven occurs in the fourth chapter is not coincidental. In Exodus 12, YHWH establishes the Passover Festival (NIV):
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9 Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs. 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.
12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
In the Apostle John's gospel, we read Jesus' words in chapter 10, verse 9 (KJV):
"I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."
In yet another surprising celestial sign, a Dalet actually appeared in the form of an unusual sunspot on September 1, 2019. A recording of the image can be seen here: https://1260d.com/2019/09/03/pi-%CF%8022-7-on-the-sun-and-dorian/sept1-2019-sun-seven-pi/ .
Returning to John's Revelation, in chapter 3 Jesus is speaking to the Church (NIV):
7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Jesus promises to keep his people from the great trial which is soon to test the entire world. There is much more to relay regarding this great promise, and we will return to this topic next time.
